An employee's myUA account is automatically activated the day their job assignment (in Banner) begins.

Please note that if there are any data entry errors in the creation of the employee's job record, there may be additional delays in the time it takes to activate their account.

If you or one of your employees experience delays for new/existing account activation, please contact UA HRIS at (907) 450-8214 or ua-hris-helpdesk@alaska.edu.

A TOAD query is available that will show all employees in a TKL and their latest completion date for the four required trainings.

You can find the Toad browser at Location: \\sw-bluewhale.apps.ad.alaska.edu\ToadQueries\HR\Training_Tracking.

The report is entitled, 鈥淭ier 1 Banner Reporting.鈥 Anyone who has general HR Toad access will be able to run this report. That includes most HR Coordinators as well as many financial or administrative managers.

If you do not have rights to run the report, please work with your campus security coordinator to request access to General HR Toad queries.

While you may be able to view myUA and the training courses in other browsers, only Google Chrome has been recommended for use. We have seen many issues with other browsers so please only use the most recent version of Google Chrome.

In a Google Chrome browser window, click the link below to be directed to the login for the myUA Employee Services Dashboard:

Once there, hover your mouse over "My Community" at the top of the page and click on the "Learning Library" where you will be able to find all required training courses offered by the University.

In the upper left corner, filter by "Type" and "Common Employee Training - Tier 1" to show only the trainings required by all employees to complete (Tier 1).

Some training courses, such as Title IX, require an employee to renew their certification(s), and complete the refresher training each fiscal year.

Due to federal regulations, Title IX must be completed every FISCAL year. For the University, our fiscal year is July 1 鈥 June 30. Regardless of completing the original Title IX course or a Title IX Refresher course in May or June of the same calendar year, every employee must complete a Title IX training for each fiscal year of employment.

The mechanism that tags our courses with the recommended ribbon is an algorithm based on the most popular courses that your fellow peers are taking. Unfortunately, it is hard coded into myUA and unable to be deactivated.

We are currently working with PageUp to find a solution to reduce any confusion this may have caused.

Disciplinary action for training non-compliance is not administered by UA HR and is left up to the employee's supervisor. If you will not be able to complete your mandatory training courses before the deadline, please work with your supervisor to create an alternate training plan after you return.

Yes!

You can enroll in and complete any training course that you would like!

If you have a 'Booked' or assigned training in your development plan, it most likely means that you are due to take your Title IX refresher course (annually) or you have been assigned mandatory training.

If you believe you have been assigned a training course in error, please confirm with your supervisor and then contact the Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) Help Desk at (907) 450-8200 or ua-hris-helpdesk@alaska.edu and we would be happy to help!

If you do not have any mandatory or booked activities, you can find the training courses you are looking for by hovering your mouse over "My Community" and click on the "Learning Library".

From there you can narrow down your search results using the filter in the upper left hand corner of the page to show only required trainings by selecting "Tier I" training courses. Click on your desired training course and begin the training by click 'Learn now'.

STEP 1: Create Learning Activity

Employees are able to add their own outside trainings and certificates to the myUA Learning Library. From the ribbon across the top of the Employee Dashboard page, hover over "My community", and click "Learning library". On the next page, click the small orange "+" button.

STEP 2: Select Training Audience

Select the tile for the audience you want to create training for: Public (it can be shared with fellow employees), or Private (only you can see the training).

STEP 3: Create Training Activity

You can customize your learning activity or match it as closely as possible to your outside learning activity using the different fields and text editor boxes. The activity title, image, and description will be shown on the learning object tile in the learning library.

STEP 4: Mark Activity Complete

If you are adding a past training experience, you can mark the activity as completed immediately using the "Add to plan" drop down menu and selecting "Mark as complete". Once you have marked a status on the course, additional fields will reveal a "Supporting documents" upload button that can be used to house your certificate of completion if you have one.

If you are adding an activity for the future, select the status that appropriately reflects what you would like.

NOTE: If you need to create an organization-wide training, please contact ua-ler@alaska.edu for further assistance.

If you have closed your course and forgot to print your certificate or need to print another one, please see the steps below:

Open your myUA Employee Services Dashboard.
Hover over 'About me' and click on 'Training and Development'
Click the 'Completed' tab and click the training you want to view the certificate for.
Click 'View learning activity' and 'Learn now'
Click 'Start' and 'Click here to launch the lesson.'
Click the small LR button (see screenshot above) to view the certificate.
